Senior Women

The ALTA Women's Senior Doubles League is open to women 45 years of age and older and plays during the Summer season. Each Women's Senior season lasts seven weeks plus two rounds of playoffs that lead to the City Championship at each playing level. Teams are formed through individual effort at public facilities, neighborhood courts, and private clubs. Playing levels include, from advanced to novice, AA, A, B, and C. Within each level, there are up to 9 flights. The prior season/year performance of the team and previous levels of its players determine team placement within the levels and flights. Individual players' levels are determined by their prior levels from the following leagues in this order: Senior Women's level (from most recent past season), Sunday/Thursday level (prior two seasons), Senior Mixed level (from most recent past season), Mixed Doubles level (prior two seasons), Senior Day Women's level (prior two seasons). If player history in both the Sunday and Thursday leagues, the same season will use the higher rating. With so many degrees of competition, players are assured of facing off against someone of comparable ability, which allows for a highly competitive match and a fun tennis environment.

ALTA Documents

Need ALTA information? You're in the right place for rules, handbooks, guides and season packets that will answer questions and provide necessary instructions for playing ALTA tennis. Document availability is role-based. If you are a captain or other team leader, you will have access to more information than a regular member to help you do your job. ALTA follows the USTA Rules of Tennis found in Friend at Court. You should also consult ALTA's rules for specific guidelines concerning league play and other ALTA-sponsored events. Those rules provide information on ALTA-specific regulations, such as default, forfeiture, retirement, scheduled match, sandbagging, inclement weather, rules specific to each league, Senior Leagues, Junior Leagues and Junior Challenge Ladder.
