A Safe Return to Tennis

ALTA takes a lot of pride in the way its members come together for competitive league play, sharing a love of the sport but also in the sharing of refreshments, fun, and camaraderie among teammates, opponents, and lifelong friends. Certain aspects of ALTA’s unique culture are not in keeping with the current guidelines of the various health and public officials, including the CDC in Atlanta, which are advising the public regarding the prevention of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Things are beginning to change, but ALTA's top priority is still the safety of our members. We are compiling documents and recommendations on league play for the summer. As we look to the start of the summer season, we will be sending out information with the latest updates from government and health officials. We have gathered information from the USTA, CDC, Dr. Stephan Esser who is USPTA member and sports and spine physician, and Dr. Neeru Jayanthi, Director of Emory Tennis Medicine. Please read the guidelines and recommendations below regarding ALTA league play. This is an ever-changing situation, rules and regulations are going to continue to change, and scheduled dates are also subject to change.
We look forward to a safe return to the game we all love.

ALTA Documents

Need ALTA information? You're in the right place for rules, handbooks, guides and season packets that will answer questions and provide necessary instructions for playing ALTA tennis. Document availability is role-based. If you are a captain or other team leader, you will have access to more information than a regular member to help you do your job. ALTA follows the USTA Rules of Tennis found in Friend at Court. You should also consult ALTA's rules for specific guidelines concerning league play and other ALTA-sponsored events. Those rules provide information on ALTA-specific regulations, such as default, forfeiture, retirement, scheduled match, sandbagging, inclement weather, rules specific to each league, Senior Leagues, Junior Leagues and Junior Challenge Ladder.
