ALTA Foundation

The ALTA Foundation, Inc., has been in existence since 1986. It was created by ALTA to promote health, character, sportsmanship, and responsible citizenship by using the game of tennis to support, not only amateur tennis athletes, but programs for the disadvantaged, the physically and mentally challenged, and to provide new opportunities for under-served youth and other tennis programs. Through its various programs, the Foundation reaches thousands of adults and juniors throughout the Atlanta area. Grants & Scholarships

Some of the great work that goes on at the Foundation means that thousands of people benefit from the generous grants which are given out throughout the year. The goal is to distribute grants that enrich the community and serve youth and special athletes in the ALTA community. Programs which are supported by the ALTA Foundation include Georgia Special Olympics, Serve & Connect, KidsLuvTennis, wheelchair clinics and tournaments and the Georgia Tennis Foundation.

In addition to grants, the Foundation administers the L. Keith Wood scholarship program. If you love to play ALTA tennis and plan on attending college, don’t miss this great opportunity. With a generous endowment from the late L. Keith Wood, the ALTA Foundation is excited to announce that eight $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to college-bound high school seniors.  Applications are being accepted September 10, 2019 through May 1, 2020, and the winners will be announced May 18, 2020.
