  • End of the Season Event at Bitsy Grant – November 30th from 4-6pm

New Player Requirements:

  • Minimum two USTA/UTR tournaments or high school team experience
  • You must agree to play at least one match every two weeks.
  • Yellow ball play only

Age Criteria for Players:

  • Must be 18 or younger during the ladder year
  • Must have reached 10th birthday during the ladder year

We will use TennisRungs to track the challenges and standings. After entering ladder placements, players can start challenging others. The ladders are divided by geographical areas, with a playoff at the end of the season. There are separate ladders for boys and girls, each arranged according to ability, age, and previous commitment to the ladder. Each ladder can accommodate up to 100 boys and 100 girls. Match play requires travel to another player's home court, necessitating commitment from the parents. If the drive exceeds 45 minutes, both parties must agree on a central location, or the Ladder Manager will assign a location for the match.

There is a $15 ladder fee in addition to the $15 annual Junior Leagues ALTA membership. Ladder members are eligible to win various prizes for different challenge categories.

Players and parents must familiarize themselves with the ALTA Junior Challenge Ladder rules and procedures. To participate, they need to review and sign the Player and Parent Agreement. The complete set of documents can be accessed by clicking on the ALTA Documents link at the bottom of the page.

ALTA Documents

Need ALTA information? You're in the right place for rules, handbooks, guides and season packets that will answer questions and provide necessary instructions for playing ALTA. Document availability is role-based. If you are a captain or other team leader, you will have access to more information than a regular member to help you do your job. ALTA tennis follows the USTA Rules of Tennis found in Friend at Court. ALTA pickleball follows the USA Pickleball Official Rulebook.  You should also consult ALTA's rules for specific guidelines concerning league play and other ALTA-sponsored events. Those rules provide information on ALTA-specific regulations, such as default, forfeiture, retirement, scheduled match, sandbagging, inclement weather, rules specific to each league and the Junior Challenge Ladder.
