Run 'n Roll

The name says it: One player runs and one player rolls as the Run ‘n Roll League pairs a standing player with a wheelchair player for doubles play that requires the ultimate in strategy and finesse. An able-bodied player and a wheelchair player are matched against another able-bodied/wheelchair pair of comparable ability. The wheelchair players are entitled to two bounces while the able-bodied players get one bounce. The league plays Tuesday nights in summer at a central location and is open to adults 18 and older. Each season lasts seven weeks followed by City Finals. The number of teams and number of lines played per team depends on how many players are registered. Wheelchair players often get their start in tennis by attending clinics sponsored by The ALTA Foundation.

ALTA Documents

Need ALTA information? You're in the right place for rules, handbooks, guides and season packets that will answer questions and provide necessary instructions for playing ALTA tennis. Document availability is role-based. If you are a captain or other team leader, you will have access to more information than a regular member to help you do your job. ALTA follows the USTA Rules of Tennis found in Friend at Court. You should also consult ALTA's rules for specific guidelines concerning league play and other ALTA-sponsored events. Those rules provide information on ALTA-specific regulations, such as default, forfeiture, retirement, scheduled match, sandbagging, inclement weather, rules specific to each league, Senior Leagues, Junior Leagues and Junior Challenge Ladder.
