Thursday Women's League
The ALTA Thursday Women's League is made up of women 18 years of age and older and plays during the Spring and Fall seasons on Thursday mornings. Each Thursday Women's season lasts seven weeks ending in a series of playoffs, which lead to the City Championship at each playing level.
Teams are formed through individual effort at public facilities, neighborhood courts, and private clubs. Playing levels include, from advanced to novice, AA, A, B, and C. Within each level, there are up to 9 flights.
Movement within the levels and flights is determined by the winning percentage of the team and previous levels of its players. With so many degrees of competition, players are assured of facing off against someone of comparable ability and allows for a highly competitive match and fun tennis environment.
Starting in the Fall 2010 season, women will be able to play in both the Thursday and Sunday leagues. When a Thursday player first joins a Sunday team, her Thursday level will be factored with the level of the Sunday team. She will then have both a Thursday and Sunday level.
